One Day Seminar on Fundamentals & Applications of Heat Treatment

Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) Baroda Chapter & Mechatronics Department, G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), A Charutar Vidya Mandal Institute, Vallabh Vidyanagar jointly organized One Day Seminar on “Fundamentals & Applications of Heat Treatment ” on 9th September, 2019. The seminar was coordinated by Dr. Ketan Tamboli & Dr. Saurin M Sheth. This seminar was specially organized for the students of Second year of Mechatronics Department. Main focus of the talk was to make the students aware of the theory, industrial practice and applications of heat treatment. Total 55 students participated in the seminar.

Dr.Sunil Kahar,Chairman ,IIM Baroda Chapter was welcomed by Dr. Sanket Bhavsar, Head, Mechatronics Department. Dr.Kahar briefed about the activites of the chapter and its contribution to the industrial problem solving efforts by consultancy etc.

Talk on Fundamentals of Heat Treatment, TTT diagram, Iron – Carbon diagram was delivered by Prof.Shashank P Joshi , Mechanical Deptt., BVM Engg.College , V V Nagar.

Talk on Case Hardening, Carburizing, Nitriding, Cyaniding and applications was delivered was delivered by Mr. Rajan Kaduskar, Head – Aerospace Certification, TUV India Pvt. Ltd.,TÜV NORD GROUP , Vadodara

Talk on Induction to flame hardening and its applications; Applications of heat treatment in gears, bearings, crankshafts ,turbine blades etc. was delivered by Mr. D.R.Lodhari, Assistant Professor, Met. & Mats. Engg. Dept. Faculty of Tech. & Engg. Kalabhavan, The M S University of Baroda, Vadodara
